The Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) has once again opened its doors to nominations for the prestigious KLF Book Awards 2024. This literary platform, known for celebrating the written word in all its glory, aims to honor 15 outstanding books across English, Hindi, and Sanskrit languages. The event not only recognizes literary excellence but also promotes cultural heritage, bringing together diverse voices and stories from across India.
Rashmi Ranjan Parida, the Founder & Director of Kalinga Literary Festival, expressed his excitement for the upcoming awards, stating that the KLF Book Awards have become a beacon for literary excellence. Ashok Kumar Bal, the CEO & Patron of Kalinga Literary Festival, highlighted the transformative power of literature in shaping societies and influencing human thought. He invited publishing houses to submit their finest works for the awards, recognizing the vital role that books play in fostering empathy, understanding, and progress. The KLF Book Awards not only honor the creative minds behind the written word but also inspire future generations to dream, write, and imagine.
Publishing houses are encouraged to nominate books and writers across seven categories in English and Hindi, as well as one category in Sanskrit. The categories include Non-Fiction, Fiction, Business, Poetry, Debut, Children’s Books, and Translation. Each publishing house can nominate up to 5 books per category in English and Hindi, and 1 book in Sanskrit Studies. To be eligible, books must have been published between January 2024 and December 2024, with nominations expected to be submitted by November 15, 2024.
In addition to the main awards, a separate Book Award will be held for Odia Books in Bhubaneswar during the 11th Kalinga Literary Festival. Nominations for this category are also invited separately. The KLF Book Awards aim to honor outstanding contributions to literature, reflecting the diversity and richness of Indian culture and languages. The awards ceremony will take place on February 15, 2024, at IIC, New Delhi.
For the nomination process, publishing houses are requested to submit their nominations in a specific format, including the category, title, and author of the book. Three physical copies of each nominated book must be sent to the addresses provided for consideration.
