The Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) in Kuala Lumpur is taking proactive steps to address the new challenges in the world of education to prepare individuals for the future job market. According to the Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, KPT is facing new challenges in the future job market that need to be explored more deeply, including the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
Zambry emphasized the importance of the government conducting in-depth studies to truly understand the job requirements for the next 10 years. He made these remarks at the Malaysia Madani Scholars Forum ‚Transition of Energy for the Future Prosperity of the Country‘ held recently in Kuala Lumpur.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Chairman of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) Tan Sri Abdul Razak Abdul Majid, and Chairman of the Malaysian Institute of Development and Inclusive Growth (MINDA-UKM) Prof. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr. Noor Azlan Ghazali.
Zambry mentioned that KPT, along with a group of experts, is working on a detailed plan to ensure that the government truly understands what needs to be done for the period from 2026 to 2035. The focus of the plan will be on four key areas: Technology Integration, Evolving Workforce Needs, Lifelong Learning & Flexibility, and Sustainability & Global Challenges.
The audience was captivated by the insights shared by the panel of experts during the event. Earlier, KPT initiated the first series of the Malaysia Madani Scholars Forum in collaboration with TNB, which was inspired by the Prime Minister himself.
The FIM serves as an important platform that brings together scholars, industry leaders, and community leaders from various backgrounds to discuss critical issues facing the Malaysian people today. The program will run from September 2024 to August 2025, with each series hosted by a Government Linked Company (GLC).
The organization of the FIM aligns with the goal of strengthening the country’s development based on the MADANI Economic Framework and the vision of substantive reform for a more advanced and prosperous Malaysia. – KOSMO! ONLINE
