The world of online shopping can be a tricky one, especially when it comes to big-ticket items like cars. One YouTuber, known as The Inja, recently found himself in a frustrating situation after ordering an electric sports car from China, only to receive something that left him feeling utterly disappointed.
The Inja, whose YouTube channel is dedicated to cars, bikes, and other automobiles, is no stranger to showcasing his latest purchases and builds to his followers. So, when he ordered what he believed to be an EV Qiantu K50 from an online seller in China, he had high hopes for his new ride. However, those hopes were quickly dashed when he unveiled the vehicle he received in a 2020 video.
Instead of the sleek and stylish EV sports car he was expecting, The Inja was met with what he described as a „pink fun v humvee or whatever the frick this is.“ The disappointment and frustration in his voice were palpable as he struggled to find the right words to describe the vehicle that had been delivered to him.
Not only was the car not what he ordered, but it also proved to be far from roadworthy. The vehicle was slow, small, and even had what appeared to be fake Lexus logos on the steering wheel. It was clear that The Inja had been the victim of a scam, and he wasted no time in sharing his experience with his followers.
In a follow-up video, The Inja revealed that he was able to secure a partial refund from the seller, but the process was far from smooth. The seller insisted on specific conditions for the refund, including only being able to wire the funds back via PayPal or a Chinese bank. The YouTuber suspected that this was all part of the seller’s scam script, making the situation even more frustrating.
Despite the challenges he faced, The Inja remained transparent with his audience, warning them to be cautious when ordering from abroad. He shared that he had to take down some of his previous videos at the seller’s request before finally receiving a partial refund of $29,000 out of the $31,000 he had initially sent.
The Inja’s experience serves as a cautionary tale for anyone considering making a big purchase from an overseas seller. It highlights the importance of doing thorough research, reading reviews, and being vigilant when it comes to online transactions. While the outcome may not have been what he had hoped for, The Inja’s transparency and honesty in sharing his story will undoubtedly help others avoid falling victim to similar scams in the future.
