Four Seasons Hotel Tunis recently welcomed Marios Trantafyllou as its new Director of Food and Beverage. With a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry, Marios is set to oversee the operations of all dining and drinking outlets at the luxurious beachfront property located in the picturesque Gammarth section of Tunisia’s capital city.
Originally from Athens, Greece, Marios’ journey to Four Seasons in Tunis began at Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris. After completing a master’s degree in luxury brand management from ESSEC Business School in Paris, he joined the Banquets team as Chef de Rang to gain valuable insights into event operations. His career then took him to various prestigious properties in Paris, including Hotel Le Bristol, Hotel Ritz, and Trianon Palace Versailles, before he ventured to Doha, Qatar, in 2014 to join the food and beverage pre-opening team of InterContinental Hotel Group properties.
Following a stint at a luxury hotel in Dubai, Marios returned to Four Seasons in 2021, where he led food and beverage operations at Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza. During his time there, he oversaw the openings of four new restaurants, showcasing his passion for restaurant development and creativity. This same focus on innovation and creativity is now being brought to Four Seasons Hotel Tunis, starting with the post-renovation reopening of Salon Alyssa, a chic lobby lounge that now features nightly musical entertainment to appeal to both local Tunisians and international guests.
Marios’ approach to food and beverage is all about creativity and presentation. He believes in showcasing the product through vibrant colors and beautiful presentations on the plate and in the glass. With a background in entertainment, Marios understands the importance of creating memorable experiences for guests. “We’re in the business of entertaining guests, after all. The more we innovate, the more we stand out,” he says.
Having spent several years in the Middle East, Marios has developed a fondness for the region and its diverse cultures. He appreciates the opportunity to learn about new traditions and mentalities, which has enriched his personal and professional growth. Additionally, Marios is an avid surfer, having transitioned from skateboarding to snowboarding before discovering his love for surfing. His move to Four Seasons Hotel Tunis was partly influenced by the property’s proximity to great waves, allowing him to indulge in his passion for the sport.
In conclusion, Marios Trantafyllou’s appointment as Director of Food and Beverage at Four Seasons Hotel Tunis brings a wealth of experience, creativity, and a passion for innovation to the property. With his background in luxury hospitality and a keen eye for detail, Marios is set to elevate the dining and drinking experiences at the hotel, creating memorable moments for guests from around the world.
