Matthew Marvin Community Impact Award presented to Greater Freeport Partnership

The Greater Freeport Partnership, a collaborative economic development organization in Stephenson County, was recently recognized for its outstanding achievements at the Foundation for Northwest Illinois Gala on August 17. The Partnership was honored as a co-recipient of the prestigious Matthew Marvin Community Impact Award, highlighting their dedication to promoting economic growth and prosperity in the region.

The Foundation for Northwest Illinois hosted the Celebration Gala in honor of their 50th anniversary, bringing together nearly 130 guests to celebrate their strategic work in economic development. Michelle DeHaven Quast, CEO of The Foundation for Northwest Illinois, emphasized the importance of collaboration in driving economic vitality in the region. She stated, “The work of the Greater Freeport Partnership embodies the collaboration that is needed for the region to continue on the path toward economic vitality, where there is both equity and opportunity for all to thrive.”

Executive Director Andrea Schultz Winter accepted the award on behalf of the Partnership, expressing gratitude for the recognition of their economic development efforts in Freeport and Stephenson County. Schultz Winter highlighted the significance of economic development in not only attracting future industries but also in building strong communities where people want to invest and spend their time. She emphasized the Partnership’s multi-faceted approach, engaging businesses and residents alike to work towards progress and prosperity.

In addition to the Greater Freeport Partnership, the Lena Business & Professional Association (LBPA) was also honored at the Gala, receiving the Craig Wilson Rural Vitality Award for their work in promoting local businesses. Northwest Illinois Economic Development was recognized as the additional co-recipient of the Matthew Marvin Award, further underscoring the collaborative efforts driving economic growth in the region.

The Greater Freeport Partnership serves as a catalyst for dynamic economic growth, creating an inclusive environment where businesses thrive and the community prospers. Their dedication to nurturing new opportunities and enriching the fabric of Freeport and Stephenson County is evident in their impactful work. Through collaboration and a commitment to economic development, the Partnership continues to play a vital role in shaping the future of the region.
