Miss World Australia and a group of aspiring models found themselves in a terrifying situation outside a shopping centre in Queensland recently. The incident, described as targeted and unprovoked, left the women shaken and in fear for their safety.
Jasmin Stinger, the current pageant winner, was alerted to the situation when a distressed teen, who had just completed catwalk training with Stinger at the centre’s gymnasium, called her for help. Rushing outside the Southport Park shopping complex, Stinger found herself face to face with a violent woman who was physically and verbally attacking the group of females.
According to reports, the women, including a 14-year-old, were waiting for a taxi when the unknown woman approached them. Video footage captured at the scene shows punches being thrown and hair being pulled, with screams and swearing filling the air as the young girls and a mother defended themselves.
Stinger recounted the harrowing experience, stating, „She came up and tried to hit me straight in the face. I managed to fend her off with my arms.“ Stevie Hearl, another member of the group, claimed she was attacked from behind and pulled to the ground by her hair. The entire ordeal lasted over 20 minutes, leaving the women feeling terrified and vulnerable.
The Queensland Police responded to the incident and charged a 46-year-old Southport woman in connection with the disturbance. The woman was taken into custody and has been given a notice to appear in court next month for committing public nuisance.
This shocking incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety and vigilance, especially in public spaces. It also highlights the courage and resilience of the women who stood up against their attacker and defended themselves.
