Missed Cruise Food News This Week: Here’s What You Need to Know

Heads up, foodies: Several cruise lines have recently announced exciting new food and beverage offerings that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. From the return of a guest-favorite restaurant to the introduction of plant-based menus and non-alcoholic cocktails, there is something for everyone to enjoy on these cruise ships.

Crystal Cruises, now known as Crystal, has revealed the return of UMI UMA by Nobu Matsuhisa Restaurant and Sushi Bar. This specialty eatery features dishes created by the renowned chef Nobuyuki „Nobu“ Matsuhisa, including Wagyu beef filet steak and Nobu-style black cod. Guests sailing on the Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony ships will have the opportunity to indulge in these delectable offerings. Bernie Leypold, the line’s senior vice president of hotel operations, expressed excitement about the return of UMI UMA, stating that it is a popular restaurant that guests love. Reservations for this restaurant are complimentary for cruises 11 days or shorter, with additional reservations available for a fee.

Windstar Cruises is also making waves in the culinary world by introducing a new plant-based menu throughout its fleet. Developed in partnership with the National Health Association, this vegan menu is prepared without added salt, oil, and sugar, as well as being gluten-free. The menu includes dishes such as baked cauliflower croquettes, penne rigate pasta with vegetables, and tahini brownies with strawberries. Peter Tobler, Windstar’s director of hotel operations, highlighted the demand for whole-food, plant-based options and the collaboration with the NHA to provide nutritious and delicious meals for guests.

Carnival Cruise Line is catering to guests looking for non-alcoholic options with the addition of new non-alcoholic cocktails at its Alchemy Bar. These drinks are made with Lyre’s non-alcoholic spirits and offer a refreshing alternative to traditional cocktails. Zachary Sulkes, Carnival’s senior director of beverage operations, emphasized the partnership with Lyre’s to provide the best non-alcoholic options at sea. Guests can enjoy drinks like The Perfect Storm and The Remedy as part of the CHEERS! beverage program or purchase them a la carte.

Whether you’re a fan of fine dining, plant-based cuisine, or creative non-alcoholic beverages, these new offerings from Crystal, Windstar, and Carnival are sure to elevate your cruise dining experience. From signature dishes by a world-renowned chef to health-conscious vegan options and innovative non-alcoholic cocktails, there is something for every palate to savor on these cruise ships.
