Mizuno has recently introduced the latest iteration of its JPX irons, the 925s, which promise exceptional distance, unmatched feel, and unrivaled fitting options. The new JPX925 Hot Metal range consists of three models – Hot Metal, Hot Metal Pro, and Hot Metal High Launch – each designed to cater to the unique needs of different golfers.
One of the standout features of the JPX925 Hot Metal range is the introduction of a new color-coding system on the back of each clubhead. This system uses a white marker for the Hot Metal, black for the Hot Metal Pro, and blue for the Hot Metal High Launch, making it easy for golfers to differentiate between the models during fittings and on the shop floor.
For the first time, the JPX Hot Metal family incorporates multi-material construction, combining Nickel Chromoly with strategically placed tungsten to deliver higher launch and steeper landing angles. This design enhances pinpoint iron precision, a rare feat in distance-oriented irons.
The JPX925 Hot Metal Irons feature a CORTECH design with a Contour Ellipse Face, which is 30% thinner than its predecessor. This innovation enhances center ball speed and ensures maximum speed retention throughout the impact zone. The inclusion of tungsten weighting in the 4-7 irons positions the weight low, facilitating a higher launch and lower sweet spot for a steeper landing angle, optimizing playability and control.
Chromoly 4140M, a high-strength material with an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, is used in the construction of the JPX925 Hot Metal Irons. This material allows for a high-strength face with a pliable hosel for precise fitting. The seamless one-piece cup face geometry maximizes the rebound area for unparalleled ball speed across the entire face, while a variable sole thickness enhances overall face flex area, contributing to increased COR.
Mizuno’s Harmonic Impact Technology, featuring finely-tuned head geometry, delivers an ideal feel and feedback at impact. Acoustic Sound Ribs ensure precisely calibrated vibration patterns for a solid, explosive impact sound. The White Satin Brush Finish adds a modern and elegant touch to the irons, making them durable and non-glare.
David Llewellyn, Director of R&D at Mizuno, expressed the brand’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of golf club engineering with the JPX line. The JPX925 Hot Metal Iron family offers three distinct models with extensive custom fitting options, upholding Mizuno’s reputation for quality and craftsmanship.
The JPX925 Hot Metal Iron family will be available for pre-sale starting September 5 and for purchase from September 19. For more information on the JPX925 Hot Metal range, visit Mizuno’s website.
