The National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) smart services, implemented through the MADANI Community in every state constituency, are set to revolutionize the way information is accessed and disseminated in Malaysia. This initiative, spearheaded by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), aims to not only improve the standard of living for the local community but also add value to their overall well-being.
According to the MCMC, the reorganization of existing programs at NADI is guided by five main thrusts: entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, self-well-being, awareness, and government initiatives. This strategic approach is intended to empower the community and ensure access to equal opportunities that cater to the specific needs of the local population. By focusing on these key areas, NADI aims to uplift the community and provide them with the necessary tools and resources to thrive in today’s digital age.
One of the main objectives of this initiative is to enhance NADI’s function as a hub for providing internet access collectively and serving as a center for disseminating the latest and most accurate information, particularly regarding government initiatives and their benefits for the people. By centralizing information and resources, NADI aims to bridge the gap between the government and the local community, ensuring that everyone has access to vital information that can improve their lives.
As of June 30, a total of 75 NADIs have been operating in Perak, with four new NADIs established under the ‚1 DUN (state constituency) 1 NADI‘ initiative. This expansion signifies the growing reach and impact of NADI in empowering communities and providing them with the necessary tools to succeed in today’s digital world. The smart service initiative is a direct result of the MADANI Digital Economy Centre Conference, held on Nov 29, 2023, and is now being implemented in all NADIs nationwide.
The official launch of NADI in Kampung Dato’ Ahmad Said Tambahan 2, in Ipoh, Perak, by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim marks a significant milestone in the implementation of this initiative. Communications Minister, Fahmi Fadzil, highlighted that the initiative typically benefits the community within a 3 to 4-kilometer radius of the physical center, in addition to collaboration with JaPen (Department of Information) and the MADANI Community. This collaborative effort ensures that the benefits of NADI reach a wide range of individuals and communities, ultimately improving their quality of life and well-being.
In conclusion, the NADI smart services initiative is a groundbreaking effort to empower local communities and provide them with the necessary resources to thrive in today’s digital age. By focusing on key areas such as entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, self-well-being, awareness, and government initiatives, NADI aims to bridge the gap between the government and the local community, ensuring that everyone has access to vital information and resources that can improve their lives. With the continued expansion and implementation of NADI nationwide, the future looks bright for communities across Malaysia.
