Do you have old or broken electronics that you’re ready to get rid of? If so, the Denver7 Electronics Recycling Drive is the perfect opportunity for you to safely and responsibly dispose of your unwanted electronics. This event, sponsored by 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Denver, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 7:00 a.m. to noon in Parking Lot H at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City.
Denver7 has partnered with Techno Rescue for this drive, where you can conveniently drop off items such as TVs, computers, DVD players, cell phones, small appliances, and more. Almost anything that plugs into the wall or uses a battery can be recycled at this event.
While it is strongly encouraged that you remove all data from your devices before bringing them to the drive, Techno Rescue will ensure that all collected items have their data destroyed through a three-pass data wipe and/or physical destruction of the device.
The cost to participate in the drive is $5 per carload, with additional fees for certain items such as LCD monitors, LCD TVs, CRT TVs, floor model printers, and DLP/Console/Projection TVs. Techno Rescue has reduced their prices for this event, making it one of the most affordable ways to recycle your electronics. Cash and credit cards will be accepted for payment.
Why should you recycle your electronics? By recycling your electronics, you are helping to save energy, reduce space in landfills, prevent environmental pollution, and repurpose raw materials for new devices. Additionally, it is illegal to throw electronics in the trash in Colorado.
You may be wondering why there is a cost associated with recycling your items. Some electronic devices contain chemicals that are harmful to the environment and human health if not handled properly. The fees charged by Techno Rescue help cover the costs of safely processing and disposing of these items.
It is important to note that not all items can be recycled at this event. Items such as broken or exposed CRT TV or projection TV tubes, household batteries, large household appliances, light bulbs, and certain chemicals cannot be accepted. It is crucial to properly prepare your electronics for recycling by backing up data and resetting the device before dropping it off.
Overall, the Denver7 Electronics Recycling Drive is a great opportunity to get rid of your old or broken electronics in an environmentally friendly way. By participating in this event, you are not only helping to protect the environment but also ensuring that your data is securely destroyed. Don’t miss out on this chance to declutter your home and make a positive impact on the planet.
