The 2024 SEMA Show is set to offer attendees a unique opportunity to become electric-vehicle (EV) and EV safety certified through a comprehensive education program focused on professional and business advancement. Taking place from Nov. 5-8 in Las Vegas, Nevada, this year’s show will feature education sessions presented by SEMA Education and Legacy EV, aimed at helping participants enhance their knowledge and understanding of EV powertrains and safety.
The „Electric Vehicles 101“ and „High-Voltage Safety Certification Training“ sessions will provide attendees with hands-on experience working with EV equipment and wiring right in the classroom during the SEMA Show. Limited to 20 participants each, these intimate sessions will ensure that students gain the skills needed to excel in the evolving and dynamic EV market.
Mavrick Knoles, Co-founder and President of Legacy EV, highlighted the unique aspect of these courses, stating, „What makes these courses unique is the hands-on experience students gain by working with EV equipment and wiring right in the classroom during the SEMA Show. Participants will not only walk away with valuable experience but can also credit the cost of both of these sessions towards a comprehensive Legacy EV Certified Technician course post-SEMA Show.“
Registration is now open for two key sessions: „Electric Vehicles 101, Presented by Legacy EV“ and „High Voltage Safety Certification Training, Presented by Legacy EV.“ The Electric Vehicles 101 course, scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 6, will cover topics such as understanding EV anatomy, electrical theory, and applications with EV specifications and tooling. Participants will work with real EV powertrains and tooling on Legacy EV training benches, and upon completion, will receive an official EV 101 certification from Legacy EV.
The High Voltage Safety Certification Training, taking place on Thursday, Nov. 7, is geared towards individuals working with high-voltage retail and products, servicing high-voltage components or vehicles, building, manufacturing, or assembling high-voltage components or vehicles, and managing high-voltage vehicle technicians. This course will cover creating an electrically safe work condition and high-voltage batteries and battery management systems. Participants will receive a Legacy EV Level 1 and Level 2 High-Voltage Safety certification upon completion.
Feedback from past participants, such as Richard Forstner and Monica Baeza, highlights the value of these training sessions in enhancing their careers and providing them with the confidence and knowledge to navigate the growing EV market. The Legacy EV sessions are part of a robust education program at the 2024 SEMA Show, designed to help industry professionals enhance their leadership and business development, gain insight into emerging trends, and discover industry best practices.
The SEMA Show is renowned as one of the largest trade shows in the world, attracting industry professionals from around the globe.
