The commercial presentation of PPG in Brno was a significant event that aimed to revitalize the Pšeník kindergarten. As part of the Colorful Communities program, PPG not only provided financial contributions but also volunteers from its employees and PPG products to bring color and vitality to communities around the world. The project involved over 75 volunteers who worked for three days to rejuvenate the interior, exterior, and playground of the kindergarten.
The Pšeník kindergarten, located near the shared services center in Brno, educates more than 70 children aged 3 to 6 years. The vision of the kindergarten is to teach children to „see the beauty around them“ and focus on a healthy lifestyle and environment. The building had not undergone any significant renovation in over 50 years, making this project even more impactful.
Inside the kindergarten, volunteers painted walls, doors, railings, and chairs in a colorful palette of orange and yellow to brighten up the space and differentiate the classrooms. Outside, volunteers painted a meadow with flowers on the gray facade to make it visually appealing as a kindergarten. They also created interactive and colorful jumping figures, painted benches, sandbox edges, playground equipment, and other items. PPG also donated a new wooden climbing frame shaped like a ship, painted in blue, red, yellow, green, and orange. Flowers and shrubs were planted to separate and reduce noise from the playground and nearby road.
Nikola Krištofová, PPG interim operations manager at the Brno Shared Services Center, expressed the company’s commitment to transforming the kindergarten into a pleasant, warm, and safe environment for local children. The Colorful Communities projects provide a great opportunity for PPG employees to connect with each other and the community, fulfilling the company’s vision.
