The North East Community Development Council (CDC) has launched a new website, TampinesCaresGoWhere, in partnership with SingHealth. This platform is the first of its kind, providing nearly 300,000 Tampines residents with access to information on healthcare services, government agencies, and community services within their town. With 84 healthcare services, nine government agencies, and 24 community services listed, residents can easily find the resources they need by entering a postal code or keyword.
Users of the platform can filter search results by groups, such as the young, families, or seniors, making it convenient to locate specific services. Mr. Desmond Choo, North East District mayor, emphasized the importance of providing a centralized platform to make it easier for everyone to access necessary services. This initiative also fosters collaboration among partners to enhance community support and ensure that everyone receives the care they require.
SingHealth, the regional health manager for eastern Singapore, has played a key role in this initiative. Professor Lee Chien Earn, deputy group chief executive at SingHealth, highlighted the significance of working together with the North East CDC, community partners, and GovTech to empower Tampines residents to enhance their health and well-being. Mr. Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for Social and Family Development and MP for Tampines GRC, expressed willingness to support other towns in replicating this platform.
For residents who may be less comfortable with technology, the website serves as a valuable resource for caregivers seeking help for seniors. Brochures with information on the services will also be available at Our Tampines Hub and community centers in Tampines. Residents can visit these centers for assistance in accessing healthcare, community services, and government agencies.
Karen Tan, an information technology executive, praised the website for its specificity to Tampines, noting that it is more direct and quicker than using search engines like Google. The launch of the website coincides with the Healthier Together @ Tampines event at Our Tampines Hub, where visitors can participate in fall risk and functional health screenings, explore stalls offering health-related products and services, and engage with booths catering to various demographics.
Overall, the TampinesCaresGoWhere website serves as a valuable resource for Tampines residents, providing easy access to essential services and resources within their town. This initiative reflects a collaborative effort to enhance community support and ensure the well-being of all residents in Tampines.
