The Rambleta del Pare Alegre in Terrassa is set to undergo a major transformation, thanks to the ambitious project led by the developer Tyris Holding SL. The project, named Somiahomes, aims to completely revamp the main facade of Terrassa, located in the southern part of the city. This project is expected to act as a catalyst for the transformation of the entire Rambleta axis, extending all the way to Doré.
The Somiahomes project includes the construction of three buildings on a plot of land in front of the Hotel Don Cándido, as well as the reurbanization of a large section of the Rambleta, from Torras i Bages street to Lepant street. Two residential buildings will be erected in the area, offering a total of 91 housing units. The taller building, standing at 15 floors, will house market-rate apartments, while the shorter building, with eight floors, will offer subsidized and protected housing units.
Additionally, a third building will be constructed to accommodate a new senior residence for Mútua Terrassa. This facility, spanning 4 to 5 floors, will serve as a socio-sanitary center with an initial capacity of 114 beds. The ground floor of the building at the southern end of the Rambleta will house commercial spaces, including a supermarket from the Lidl chain.
The total investment in the urbanization of the new project is estimated at 47.5 million euros. The urbanization project has been finalized, and the parceling project is expected to receive final approval before the summer holidays. This will allow the developer to commence construction before the end of 2024, with a projected timeline of 24 months for completion.
The transformation of the southern section of the Rambleta will give Terrassa a renewed and modernized facade, enhancing the city’s main entry and exit point. The project, designed by the local architecture firm Darq, includes a public square with trees, vegetation, and playgrounds in front of the buildings, as well as a complete reconfiguration of the axis.
The project also involves the enhancement of Tren de Baix street, turning it into a two-lane road with improved pedestrian walkways. A new roundabout will replace the current intersection between Hotel Don Cándido and the gas station, providing a fresh perspective on the area and expanding sidewalk space for pedestrians.
Furthermore, plans are in place for a new FGC station between Rambleta and Tren de Baix streets. This station will be the sixth stop in Terrassa, with future plans for additional amenities and parking facilities for commuters and visitors.
The Somiahomes project is expected to serve as a catalyst for the transformation of the entire Rambleta axis, with future developments planned for the Tren de Baix street area. The city council of Terrassa has a more ambitious project in the works to revamp the entire Rambleta axis, from Torras i Bages street to the Doré roundabout.
Tyris Holding SL, the developer behind the Rambleta project, is a Catalan-based investment group with a strong presence in the real estate and asset development sectors. With a portfolio of over 1,600 housing units in Spain and prime assets in prominent locations, the company is poised to make a significant impact on the urban landscape of Terrassa.
In conclusion, the Somiahomes project represents a significant step towards the revitalization of the Rambleta axis in Terrassa. With its innovative design, strategic location, and commitment to quality urban development, this project is set to redefine the city’s southern entrance and create a vibrant and dynamic urban environment for residents and visitors alike.
