The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has once again escalated, with reports of intense shelling by Russian forces in the border areas and settlements of Sumy region. According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, a total of 88 attacks were carried out during the day, resulting in 229 explosions in various communities.
In the Bilopilska community, the enemy utilized mortars, artillery, air strikes, and FPV drone attacks, with a total of 48 mortar explosions recorded. The Khotynska community also experienced air strikes and mortar shelling, while the Putivlska community was targeted with an air strike.
The Novoslobidska community witnessed air strikes, FPV drone attacks, and artillery shelling, highlighting the intensity of the attacks by Russian forces. Similarly, the Esmanska community faced air strikes, mortar shelling, and FPV drone attacks, further escalating the situation in the region.
The Krasnopilska community was subjected to an air strike, mortar shelling, artillery attacks, MLRS, and FPV drone attacks, demonstrating the wide range of weaponry used by the aggressors. In the Velykopysarivska community, Russians dropped 33 mines, in addition to artillery and FPV drone attacks.
The Sveska community bore the brunt of an air strike, resulting in the tragic loss of two civilians and the injury of two others. The Druzhbivska community also faced air strikes, while the Berezivska community experienced air strikes as well.
In the Seredyno-Budska community, Russians dropped 16 mines, further exacerbating the situation on the ground. The Mykolaivska community was targeted with an air strike, while the Bezdrytska community suffered casualties due to an air strike.
The Sumy community itself was not spared, with air strikes causing injuries to three civilians. The relentless attacks by Russian forces have created a sense of fear and uncertainty among the residents of Sumy region, with many forced to seek shelter and protection from the ongoing violence.
