The history of Mr Gatti’s Pizza dates back to 1964 when the chain was first founded in Stephenville, Texas as The Pizza Place. In 1969, the first Mr Gatti’s Pizza was opened in Austin by founder James Eure, named after his wife’s maiden name. Today, the chain has a major presence in South Texas and has expanded to include locations in several states, including Texas, Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
Owner Kirk Jefferies, a Texas native and graduate of Texas Tech, has invested over $3 million to bring the beloved Texas pizza chain to Fort Worth. Jefferies, who also owns and operates other franchises including Jason’s Deli, is committed to enriching the community and creating spaces where families can gather and create lasting memories.
This new location in Fort Worth is the second Mr Gatti’s that Jefferies has opened in the area, following the delivery-carryout store at 2812 Horne St. #100. The chain had previously operated a location in Fort Worth in 2016, but it closed in 2018.
