The local community in Miri is invited to witness the 6th Sarawak Buddhist Culture Presentation on July 21st. Tickets for the event, organized by the Miri Buddhist Association, are now available for purchase at RM20 each. The program will take place at the Dewan Dato Lee Teck Fook SMK Chung Hua Miri starting at 7 pm.
According to a statement released by the organizers, the event aims to provide the public with an opportunity to understand the Buddhist culture through performances by various orthodox Buddhist groups. The presentation is expected to help individuals find direction and regain courage to face life’s challenges.
The showcase will feature six Buddhist groups from across Sarawak, including the Miri Buddhist Society, Batu Niah Buddhist Society, Bintangor Buddhist Society, Bintulu Buddhist Association, Kuching Tze Yin Buddhist Orthodox Association, and Kuching Buddhist Society.
In preparation for the event, the organizers conducted courtesy visits to the offices of elected representatives and various organizations to deliver invitation letters and seek support. Among those visited were Sarawak Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting, Pujut State Assemblyman cum Mayor of Miri Adam Yii, Miri Member of Parliament Chiew Choon Man, Batu Niah Buddhist Society, Bintangor Buddhist Society, and Bintulu Buddhist Association.
