UT introduces new stadium food options for SEC debut

The University of Texas at Austin is gearing up for its debut season in the NCAA Southeastern Conference with a new partnership that promises to elevate the food and drink options at DKR Memorial Stadium. Fans attending home games can look forward to a revamped menu featuring mouth-watering items such as hand-breaded chicken tenders, Barbecue paella, and Barbecue pulled pork sandwiches. The new offerings are the result of a collaboration with Sodexo, a food service company known for its work with the 2024 Paris Olympics.

At the Frank Denius Family Hall of Fame, lucky Longhorns fans were treated to a sneak peek of the delectable new menu items. Amrit Babu, who attended the event with his wife, raved about the brisket, exclaiming, „The food’s amazing! Like, the brisket? I’m so glad I didn’t eat before coming here.“ Executive Chef Mark Krystopa expressed his excitement about the opportunity to showcase fresh, local flavors and reimagine stadium food for fans.

With the move to the SEC, the pressure is on for the University of Texas to deliver an exceptional fan experience both on and off the field. Vice President of Operations James Powers emphasized the importance of providing fans with the best possible experience, stating, „Bringing your family to a game and having it be a perfect experience, so you’re getting the best we have to offer while our team is showing you the best they have to offer.“

To ensure that fans can enjoy the new menu items without missing any of the action on the field, the stadium will be introducing dozens of additional grab-and-go digital ordering devices. This will allow fans to quickly and conveniently order their favorite snacks and get back to their seats in time for kickoff. Krystopa revealed that a staggering 26,000 pounds of brisket are expected to be prepared for each home game, highlighting the scale of the operation required to feed hungry Longhorns fans.

Season-ticket-holder Rachel Thornton emphasized the importance of the gameday experience, stating, „Texas is always number one in my mind. What we have to offer on gameday is so important, so I’m really stoked to see what people think when they come to Austin.“ With the new partnership and menu offerings, the University of Texas is poised to deliver an unforgettable experience for fans attending games at DKR Memorial Stadium.
