As a fan of the Cat Quest series, it’s frustrating to see that the first installment is not available on Xbox consoles. Cat Quest 2 and 3 are widely available across various platforms, including Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC. However, the original Cat Quest is missing from the Xbox library, leaving fans like myself unable to complete the series on our platform of choice.
The Cat Quest franchise is known for its charming and accessible RPG gameplay, featuring adorable cat characters and a lighthearted story. Playing through the series in reverse order, starting with Cat Quest 3 and working my way back to the first game, has been an enjoyable experience. However, the absence of the original Cat Quest on Xbox means that my journey through the series will come to an abrupt halt after Cat Quest 2.
While it’s possible to play the first Cat Quest on other platforms, such as mobile devices, the issue lies in the inability to own the entire series on the same platform. As a completionist, I want to be able to 100% the games and earn all the achievements on Xbox with the same account. It’s disappointing to have two out of three games in a trilogy available on Xbox, leaving a noticeable gap in the series for fans who prefer to play on this platform.
It’s important to note that the original Cat Quest was published by PQube, not Kepler Interactive like the third entry. Additionally, The Gentlebros, the small team of developers behind the series, may already be focused on future projects and may not have immediate plans to bring the first Cat Quest to Xbox. However, as a fan of the series, I remain hopeful that they will consider releasing the game on Xbox in the future to complete the trilogy on all platforms.
In the meantime, Cat Quest 3 stands out as a fantastic addition to the series, offering a fun and engaging adventure for players on Xbox. Despite the absence of the first game, Cat Quest 3 is a standout title that showcases the charm and creativity of the series. Whether playing solo or with a friend, Cat Quest 3 delivers a delightful experience that is sure to entertain fans of RPGs and cat lovers alike.
In conclusion, while the absence of the original Cat Quest on Xbox is disappointing, it doesn’t detract from the overall enjoyment of the series. Fans can still experience the magic of Cat Quest through the available titles on Xbox and other platforms. Hopefully, in the future, The Gentlebros will consider bringing the first Cat Quest to Xbox to complete the series and provide fans with a truly fursome collection of cat-themed adventures.
