The Firecracker Awards celebrate independently published books in the categories of fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry, as well as the best literary magazines in the categories of debut and general excellence. Each winner receives a monetary prize, with half going to the author or translator and half to the publisher, in recognition of their exceptional work.
