The Youth Empowerment (YES) program organized by the Pahang State Government in collaboration with the Department of Youth and Sports has proven to be a successful initiative in addressing the real needs of the youth in the state. The program, which consists of several series and stages, aims to cultivate quality future leaders among the youth of Pahang.
According to YB Tuan Fadzli Mohamad Kamal, the Exco of Communication and Multimedia, Youth, Sports, and Non-Governmental Organizations, the implementation of the YES program has received positive feedback from the youth, highlighting the importance of understanding their genuine needs to ensure the success and effectiveness of the program.
„We do not want to be self-absorbed in our efforts. We aim to understand the exact needs of the youth, and YES provides the perfect platform for them to voice their opinions, desires, and requirements as it involves youth from various backgrounds and areas within Pahang,“ stated YB Tuan Fadzli.
The program was officially concluded with a ceremony at the Rakan Muda Complex in Raub, attended by Deputy Director of the Pahang Youth and Sports Department, Sahfrul Kadir, and President of the Pahang Youth Council, Saharuddin Ahmad.
YB Tuan Fadzli emphasized the importance of nurturing quality youth leaders who can guide and raise awareness among their peers to face life’s challenges together. He highlighted that through the YES program, participants gain a deep understanding of the need for quality youth, leadership skills, and the ability to overcome today’s challenges.
„Participants will then work towards educating other youth in their respective areas to understand the current challenges and guide them to navigate through them,“ he added.
Furthermore, selected participants will also help promote youth involvement in community activities through volunteerism, exposing them to various new knowledge and skills.
The YES program serves as a crucial platform for empowering the youth of Pahang, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to become effective leaders and contributors to society. Through initiatives like YES, the state government aims to create a generation of empowered and proactive youth who can lead and inspire positive change in their communities.
