Zuhal Kuvan-Mills, Fashion Designer, to Present Transformation of Hospital Scrubs into Stylish Clothing at Eco Fashion Week

Zuhal Kuvan-Mills, a Perth fashion designer, has gained international recognition for her sustainable clothing label, Green Embassy. Born in 2013, the label focuses on using 100% certified organic Australian alpaca, Merino, silk, and recycled natural fibers to create luxurious garments. Handcrafted on Kuvan-Mills‘ Swan Valley alpaca farm, the collection emphasizes zero waste and sustainability.

Despite being worn by celebrities like Pamela Anderson and featured in publications like Vogue China and Vancouver Fashion Week, Kuvan-Mills remains committed to the label’s ethos of sustainability. She views her collections as a form of art, telling stories about environmental issues such as empty oceans and silent rainforests.

In a unique and innovative move, Kuvan-Mills recently collaborated with local labels Fabric of Nature and Deadly Denim to repurpose old hospital scrubs into a new clothing collection. The project, titled ‚Aqua,‘ aims to raise awareness about climate change and water shortages. The garments, which include delicate dresses, skirts, and tops, will be showcased at Eco Fashion Week later this year.

Eco Fashion Week, founded by Kuvan-Mills in 2017, is the world’s largest eco fashion week in terms of duration. The event will feature 58 shows across Busselton and Perth in November, highlighting the importance of sustainable fashion and raising awareness about the impact of fast fashion on the environment.

Kuvan-Mills is passionate about educating consumers about the importance of sustainable fashion. She encourages people to rethink their purchasing habits and consider the environmental impact of their clothing choices. By supporting brands like Green Embassy and participating in events like Eco Fashion Week, individuals can make a positive impact on the fashion industry and contribute to a more sustainable future.
